My name is Lizzy and I am an author. I am also a mom, elementary school teacher and a creative writing Master’s student.  

I write emotion-filled fiction narratives about people who have no voice like abuse survivors trying to find their way in life and US veterans adjusting back into society after living in war zones. My Cedar’s Port series books have themes of love, loss, second chances and self-redemption. In the series, strong characters like Navy veterans face off against murderers, psychotic maniacs and even drug cartels. The little coastal town set in North Carolina has seen it all. What will happen in the fifth book in the series called "Restoring Hope," due in 2025? 

I have been writing stories all my life but I started writing mental health blogs for survivors of trauma on the CPTSD Foundation. I am a survivor of childhood trauma and abuse and I write for those who have no voice. I have written my own childhood memoir called: The Sex-Offender's Daughter about what it is like to grow up in an abusive environment. After the Covid pandemic, I wrote a follow up book to my memoir about what it is like to manage the day-to-day years after a traumatic childhood. The book is called "Living with Complex PTSD."
